AVERY FIELDS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION PROGRAMME SPONSOR
PRIMARY PROSPECT PROGRAMME
Our Prospect Programme aims to alleviate the financial burden of participation in the sports for local primary school children aged between 4 and 11.
The programme delivers a yearlong school timetable of sports activity based breakfast clubs, lunchtime clubs and after school clubs to primary schools in lower socio-economic areas. It does this through the provision of high-quality, professional and participation-based coaching built around the core values delivered in a fun and life enhancing way.
Your support will allow us to deliver this essential programme, setting local primary school children on the right path to sports enjoyment.
READING AND RUGBY PROGRAMME
We are now able to provide primary schools with an opportunity to participate in our Reading & Rugby Programme, working with youngsters who would benefit from one to one and small group work. The programme is designed to associate reading with sport and in particular Rugby Union through 60 minute reading sessions and 60 minute coaching and fun games. The provision of books
and reading literature (which is included as part of this programme) for the children to continue to use after the programme is an extremely important aspect and is aimed at sustaining their long term development.
Working with the National Literacy Trust, we have developed a programme which as well as developing their reading skills also helps develop children’s teamwork and communication skills (both highly transferable life skills) and can lead to enhanced confidence and self-esteem as well as having the obvious physical benefits of being involved in an active team sport with meaningful values.
Your support will allow us to deliver this essential programme, helping local primary school children who are currently falling behind with their reading to catch up as well as setting them on a path to the enjoyment of an active team sport which should also lead to their improved physical and mental wellbeing.
SECONDARY SCHOOL SPORTS MENTORING PROGRAMME
This is a secondary school sports mentoring coaching programme for local high school students, boys and girls. It is delivered to support pupils that are not engaged with school and are at risk of exclusion from mainstream aducation.
They also support the holistic development of young players through education around lifestyle and health factors with sessions on Nutrition, Strength & Conditioning and Mental Health Wellbeing.
Each 8-week block of coaching will help students find the right direction to follow to encourage their long-term participation in sport at whatever level suits them.
This programme is typically sponsored by individuals and groups that attended the school as a pupil. A great way of giving back!
GIRL’S RUGBY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
Our fast-growing girl’s rugby development programme actively engages with and encourages local schoolgirls and young female adults aged between 13-18. The programme is designed to help these students find the right direction to encourage their long-term participation in rugby at whatever level suits them.
It also includes the holistic development of female players through education around lifestyle, nutrition, and mental health factors.
Your contribution will support regular training sessions, essential kit, equipment, and competitive fixtures by allowing more girls to play the sport more often.
RUGBY PATHWAY PROGRAMME
We are aware that several of our programmes will create an interest in being involved in the game of rugby but it may not be easy for young people to get to a rugby club or they may not be able to afford the necessary kit or they may lack the confidence to take that first step to actually join a rugby club.
The Rugby Pathway Programme will provide the necessary assistance for up to 75 young people from our Primary Prospects Programme, Secondary School Sports Mentoring Programme, Girls Rugby Programme and Rugby and Multi Sports Camps to join a rugby club (initially Bournville RFC) and hopefully provide a route to lifelong sporting participation for these young people. In addition to helping with practical measures such as transport and kit, the beneficiaries will be supported by the Foundation’s Community Coaching team who will ensure a smooth introduction to a relevant age group team.
Your sponsorship of this programme will provide the opportunity for young people to be able to access an active team sport through removing barriers to participation and have healthy and positive physical and social interactions which should also lead to wider societal benefits from young people being involved in a team sport with meaningful values, particularly when those people are from vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds.
RUGBY AND MULTI SPORTS CAMPS including HAF CAMPS
The Avery Fields Community Foundation holds regular Rugby and Multi Sports Camps during school holidays which feature loads of fun, safe and enjoyable games and activities. All our sports camps are conducted in a safe and friendly environment and run by our professionally qualified and compassionate coaches.
The camps are inclusive for all and are open for both boys and girls aged from 5-16 from all local area schools and clubs. Designed to improve self-confidence, eye to hand coordination and social skills in a sporting environment where participants can enjoy themselves with little or no previous rugby playing experience required.
Your sponsorship will guarantee free holiday camp places for local school children who need them most.
WALKING RUGBY
Walking Rugby is a brilliant, fun and inclusive way for anyone aged 55 and over to add some light-hearted exercise into their weekly routine. The sessions are adapted to cater for all backgrounds and experiences of rugby and everyone including veterans of the game or brand newcomers are welcome.
Walking Rugby is a fun and simple team game that is accessible to people of all ages and abilities. It is much less physical and technical than standard rugby and as a result, is more inclusive and sociable, it requires no previous experience of rugby or special equipment and can be played both indoors and outdoors.
Your financial backing will ensure the weekly sessions continue to be a lifeline for older members of the local community who lack social mobility or an outlet for suitable, safe sporting activity.

BREAKING DOWN CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)
Corporate Social Responsibility is a broad concept that can take many forms depending on the company and industry. Through meaningful CSR programs, philanthropy, and volunteer efforts, businesses can benefit society while boosting their brands.
As important as CSR is for the community, it is equally valuable for a company.
- Improving staff retention and engagement.
- Aligning your organisation as socially responsible and locally aware.
- Opportunities to demonstrate your commitment to meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility.
- Connecting you to your clients, customers, and the wider community.
CSR activities can help forge a stronger bond between employees and corporations; they can boost morale and can help both employees and employers feel more connected with the world around them.
