The Trust was established in 2017 as a registered charity to deliver a new sports facility. The former GEC Sports Ground was gifted by Persimmon Homes as part of a Section 106 Planning Agreement negotiated by Birmingham City Council and the Rugby Football Union (RFU).
In addition to a substantial financial contribution from Persimmon Homes, the Trust has raised further funds to enable the project to procced.
The objective of the Trust is to preserve the 14 acre site for sporting and community use in perpetuity. The Trust is working in partnership with its anchor tenant, Bournville Rugby Football Club.
